Rob Bluey, an accomplished journalist, is vice president of communications at The Heritage Foundation and executive editor of The Daily Signal, the think tank’s multimedia news organization.
Bluey leads a team that oversees Heritage’s communications strategy, digital platforms, editorial content, and original news reporting. He is responsible for building innovative media platforms and digital assets that reach influential audiences with conservative policy solutions.
Bluey is the founding editor of The Daily Signal, a respected source of policy-based news and analysis. It was launched by Heritage in June 2014 to provide insightful, credible reporting and influential commentary on policy issues from a conservative perspective.
Combining a background in journalism with a passion for digital media, Bluey’s goal has been to strengthen Heritage’s position as the go-to policy research institute with stories and videos that spotlight conservative solutions to the nation’s thorniest challenges.
Bluey joined Heritage in 2007 after five years as a reporter and editor in Washington, D.C., for Cybercast News Service and Human Events.
Bluey serves on the board of visitors for the Institute for Political Journalism at The Fund for American Studies. He frequently speaks about journalism and digital strategy. The America’s Future Foundation honored him with its Buckley Award, Campaigns & Elections magazine named him a “Rising Star,” and Politico placed him among Washington’s “Top 50 Politicos.”
Bluey grew up in upstate New York. He graduated from Ithaca College, and was editor of its award-winning newspaper, The Ithacan.
He currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and two sons.
