Chief Insights Officer, Cognito
Mark Weiner is Chief Insights Officer for Cognito where he leads Cognito Insights, the agency’s international research-based consulting practice. In this role, he provides clients with data-informed analysis and guidance to enhance the return on their communications investments.
Mark is one of the leading and most respected experts in the world on public relations research, measurement and evaluation. He has led actionable research programs for scores of Fortune Global 1000 companies spanning a variety of business categories including financial services, technology, healthcare, automotive, gaming, pharmaceuticals, professional services, retail and more.
Mark received the 2018 Jack Felton Medal for Lifetime Achievement from the Institute for Public Relations (IPR) for whom he serves as a board member and he is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society. He acts in an advisory role for the Museum of Public Relations and sits on the Advisory Board at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications.
Mark is on the editorial advisory board of PR News for whom he writes a monthly column. He speaks on the topics of public relations return-on-investment, corporate reputation and integrated marketing communication at conferences around the world. Under his guidance, Mark and the teams with whom he’s worked earned many “Best Research” awards including The Diamond Sabre; The PR Platinum Award; The Ogilvy Award, AMEC Award, and The Golden Ruler Award. PR News inducted him into its Measurement Hall of Fame in 2013.
Mark joined Cognito from PRIME Research, where he served as Chief Executive Officer, and as Chief Insights Officer following Cision’s acquisition of PRIME in 2018. He was also previously the CEO of Delahaye Medialink, a corporate communications research and consulting firm. Mark founded Medialink Research in 1994 and, in 1997, he served on the executive committee that led Medialink to become the first public relations firm to initiate a public offering (NASDAQ:MDLK).
Mark began his career with The New York Times News Service after which he was a columnist and Vice President for The McNaught Newspaper Syndicate, a division of Tribune Media. He graduated from the University of Maryland.
