Brian Nickey – Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Chief, Digital Media Division
Brian brings more than 32-year’s professional experience as a communicator, visual artist, web designer/developer, public relations practitioner and educator.
In his current role as chief of Digital Media Division for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Brian serves as the principle advisor on all digital media communications and strategies. He manages creative teams in the web media, visual media and print media branches. He oversees ATF’s public web site, YouTube channel, internal communications channels and leads production and delivery of web content, official videos, photos, multimedia and graphic design products.
Brian’s previous work has spanned the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, the Air Force and private sector where he incorporated his strong background in graphic design, web development and digital media to develop and deliver content across numerous platforms. His particular interest and focus is building corporate identity where he’s been able to combine his artistic vision and strategic communications to lead the development of numerous branding and re-branding efforts.
Brian also enjoys his work as an adjunct professor at Howard Community College teaching web development where he shares his love coding, core technologies and front-end web development.
Brian holds a Master’s Degree is in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Studies from University of Maryland, University College.
