Mike Dabadie Co-CEO and Founding Partner of Heart+Mind Strategies
Mike Dabadie is the Co-CEO and Founding Partner of Heart+Mind Strategies, an Insights+Strategy+Activation Consultancy built on the principles of consumer behavior change by using individual and societal values as motivators of human choice. Mike has been active in research, marketing, business management, public policy issues, and campaigns for more than 30 years and balances the leadership of Heart+Mind while staying active with his clients.
As Co-CEO of Heart+Mind, he leads the Executive Leadership Team in business visioning, DEI, global expansion initiatives, and the financial success of Heart+Mind Strategies’ strategic plans and innovations.
Mike has been directly involved in the strategic marketing of Las Vegas, including from the creation of its iconic expression, What Happens Here, Stays Here. He is the rare two-time winner of the David Ogilvy Advertising and Research Award in recognition for Las Vegas’ successful brand positioning through the use of innovative market research techniques and strategies to help Las Vegas reach its leisure and business objectives.
Because of his deep category knowledge in travel, coffee, gaming, and financial services, clients in these categories frequently ask for Mike’s advisory services. He has been working on the successful passage of sports betting across many states, led the merger of two of the largest specialty coffee associations in the world, advises on the priority for consumers to use a comprehensive financial plan, and assisted Las Vegas through its response to the 2017 shooting incident and now COVID recovery. With these client organizations he works with Boards, CEOs, Executive Leadership Teams, organizational leaders, and external stakeholders.
Before founding Heart+Mind Strategies, Mike was the head of marketing at Community Coffee, ran the Brand Strategy Group at Harris Interactive as its President, and was the lead political pollster for several domestic and international leaders while working with Reagan strategist Dick Wirthlin. These included Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Speaker Paul Ryan (WI), Senator Sam Brownback (KS), Governor Jim Gibbons (NV), other national and local elected officials, and many issue focused organizations and referendums.
A policy debater and extemporaneous speaker, Mike stays active in high school forensics. He debated for Holy Cross and went on to coach teams at Jesuit (New Orleans) and the Langley School (McLean, VA). He and his debate partners won debate finals at the state and city levels, and went on to place in the national finals at Harvard.
Mike is a native of New Orleans and now lives in the Washington, D.C. area. He is an enthusiastic cook, world traveler, runner/cyclist, saltwater fisherman, and coffee fanatic. Mike has a degree in Political Science from Loyola University and is a graduate of the Council for a Better Louisiana’s program, Leadership Louisiana.
