Martha Boudreau, AARP

Martha Boudreau is the Executive Vice President and Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at AARP, where she also is a member of the Executive Team. Her responsibilities with the 38 million-member organization include setting enterprise brand and communications strategy and unifying AARP’s voice throughout the organization’s extensive channels: social, digital, member call centers, earned and paid media along with AARP’s award winning publications, AARP The Magazine and the AARP Bulletin.

Before joining AARP, Martha served as president of the Mid-Atlantic region and Latin America for FleishmanHillard, a leading global communications consulting firm. During her tenure at the firm’s Washington office, she led the efforts to change its offerings to reflect a rapidly evolving communications landscape. She established the firm’s government communications practice, and spearheaded a “Digital Diplomacy” team that trained ambassadors and embassy staff in the use of social media to support their traditional outreach efforts in Washington. In addition to her financial and client service responsibilities in the Washington office, she was central to the global coordination of client work and new business efforts.

Martha is an award-winning communications professional, and was most recently named 2016 PR Woman of the Year by Washington Women in Public Relations. Also in 2016, she received the Silver Medal for Excellence from the American Advertising Federation’s Washington, D.C. chapter. Martha serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for International Private Enterprise as well as the American Bird Conservancy. She has also served as a Board member for the National Press Foundation and the American Heart Association’s mid-Atlantic affiliate. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Political Science.
