Jarvis C. Stewart is managing partner and chief strategist at IR+Media, a Washington DC-based public affairs and strategic communications firm.  He co-founded IR+Media five years ago after a nearly two-decade career as one of Washington’s most sought after government and corporate affairs consultants. At IRM, he is tasked with advising public, private and international clients on a wide range of issues relating to their public and legislative affairs agendas, brand and reputation management efforts and crisis mitigation goals.

His past and present client roster are among the most recognizable brands in the world. Genesis Motor America, Hyundai, Jamba Juice, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, SCL Health Systems, Shell Oil Company, Toyota and Walmart have all looked to Jarvis for public affairs and strategic communications counsel.

Nationally recognized as a crisis communications strategist, Jarvis most recently advised Virginia Governor Ralph Northam on a highly sensitive matter which threatened his political career. Jarvis and IRM have served in a similar capacity to an exhaustive list of other high-profile elected officials, celebrities and global business leaders in Dubai and Argentina.

His government and public policy experience include serving as Chief of Staff to former United States Representative Harold Ford, Jr. of Tennessee and as a senior advisor to former Clinton Labor Secretary Alexis M. Herman. Additionally, he has been an advisor to more than a dozen state, local and national political campaigns during the span of his 30-year career. Jarvis was also a founding partner of the Washington Nationals, where he played an integral role in bringing America’s favorite pastime back to the Nation’s capital and promoting the team’s economic benefits to the community.

While his professional accomplishments are many, none have overshadowed the 10 years he spent serving as the executive consultant to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation. In this role, Jarvis raised more than $42 million to build the $200 million project and helped develop the global communications plan for its dedication. His media and public affairs expertise have been highlighted in Politico, Roll Call, Wall Street Journal and Washington Business Journal.

A native of Houston, Jarvis is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University and is a frequent speaker on college and university campuses such as California State University, Northridge, Howard University and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
