Doug founded and directs Purple Insights, the research division of Purple Strategies. He brings 15 years’ worth of public opinion research experience, working with the firm’s largest clients across the corporate, advocacy, and institutional spheres. He was born in Montreal, but raised (and lives) in Washington, DC. At Purple, Doug has developed custom research methodologies that provide complete integration between opinion research, message development, and successful communications execution for a broad range of clients, including BP, PhRMA and Time Warner Cable. He also created the PurplePoll, Purple Insights’ regular look at trends across the political and brand spheres, and is partnering with Bloomberg Politics for their coverage of the 2016 election. Doug has appeared on nearly every major network for his commentary on trends in public opinion and politics, and his writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, National Journal’s Hotline, Politico, Inside Higher Ed, Political Research Quarterly, The Hill, and Campaigns and Elections.
